These are an absolute for your Braun Shaver so there is no choice on whether or not to buy them. They are a bit pricey and don't last quite as long as advertised. Still, buying them in the three-pack from Amazon saves some money over buying them at Walmart.
~ August 21, 2010 ~ R. Yosowitz from Phoenix, AZ said:Worth using
I've had the 7 Series Braun (760 I think?) for over three months now. I use the cleaning cycle about every other shave and it lasted almost three months. It definitely keeps the razor clean and smelling fresh. I was surprised actually. I had just assumed that when the indicator told me it was time to replace the cartridge that it meant it was empty. It was not empty at all. But it was no longer blue and I could see TONS of my tiny facial hairs floating around. Yuck! But this is why the clean & renew system is worth using. I've read that some people cap their tank after every cleaning to keep it from evaporating. I did that for about a week before I gave up because it was too much of a hassle. After all, half the reason I use an electric is because I'm lazy. So maybe I lose out on an extra couple of cleaning cycles but to me it's not worth the trouble. Just buy a three pack which should last 6-9 months.

I've owned a "Braun 360" for about four years now. While it is definitely the best razor I've ever owned (it glides through my heavy beard even when I skip a day), finding the cartridges for it has always been a hassle and expensive. This 3-pack via Amazon costs less than a 2-pack at the only store near me that sells them. Delivery was quick.

I am glad that I've purchased this unit designed for Braun shaver/cleaner system. The very best part i like about this system is that it's easy to use, simply insert and go. Got this previously at Walmart and found it for sale cheaper here in Amazon. Each one of these refills lasts approximately 2-3 months, and I have not experience any skin irritation/inconvenience ever since. These are definitely great units to get

Works well, but addds to cost of shaving. Each refill lasts for about 2 months with daily use, so not too bad.

These little white bottles are a life saver for those of us with thinning or bald spots on our head. After the first series (3 months) I saw noticeable growth and thickening of the hair (I use it on my receding hairline, so yes it does work up front!). I am now on month 4.5 and its still filling in great. I would recommend this to anyone who needs a growth up top and the added confidence boost.

I've been using this product for over 10 years and all I can say is that it does work.
I discontinued its use for a couple of months and got bald. As soon as I restarted to use it, I noticed much of my lost hair was growing back.
I know it doesn't work the same for everyone, but in my case, I happen to be one strong candidate.

I don't recall any problems with this seller, I believe the transaction was perfectly smooth as I expected. In short, rogaine foam has worked great for me and very quickly. I noticed my hair growing thicker and healthier within just a few weeks and shortly after that (maybe six weeks?) I noticed baby hairs forming. After two months my hairline had lowered about a centimeter which IMO is very drastic. I highly recommend any 5% minoxidil product for anyone who is considering it.
Okay, now for the unabridged review...
About me: I noticed my hairline receding around 16 and pretty much went directly into denial about it. My family has a history on of baldness in all of the men. When I started about four months ago my hair was very thin all over my crown. I was beginning to see my scalp all over the top. My temple's had no hair on them and I was developing the classic widow's peak look. I didn't mind my receding hairline until this past year because it was so gradual. since 2010 my hair started falling out very very rapidly and I new I had to do something.
Around the age of 20 I started taking finasteride every other day that was prescribed from my doctor. He recommended using rogaine along with it but I decided against it because of price and hassle associated with using something everyday forever. The fin' didn't seem to ever do anything and by 21 years of age my hair was steadily getting worse and the shedding was getting more and more severe. I could scratch my head and see hairs falling out. It was very depressing and embarrassing.
Finally I bought this rogaine foam. It's cheapest here on amazon I checked all over the place and this was the best option for me. I continued the finasteride and started the foam. I took picture for reference.
It's been about 4 months since I first started. I didn't have any side effects other than a little bit of soreness at first similar to a sunburn. I am very fair-skined and usually have skin irritations easily so this surprised me that I had so little of side effects.
I took the product as directed and my hair started looking thicker within just 2 or 3 weeks. by a month or two my hair was clearly beginning to grow back around my temples and my scalp began to disappear under my hair which was clearly thickening. Even my girlfriend (who was skeptical from the beginning) started to notice the growth. I started using it after showering because I had heard that this enhances absorption. I remember about two months ago my hair completely stopped shedding... meaning no more hair in the shower drain and no more hair floating off my head when I scratched it. I also noticed that my hair on my crown was growing at the same speed as all the rest of my hair which is much better than the 'clown-hair' look I was sporting in years past with the sides of my head growing faster than the top.
Around two and a half months I started to be inconsistent with the applications using it just once a day or every other day.
Everything was going great until about three months in when my results seemed to taper off and the shedding started all over again. I have started using it twice to three times daily on a dry scalp which is how the directions recommend it. I think that the decline in results is from my inconsistency in using the product and possibly from using it on a wet scalp which may actually hinder the performance of the minoxidil...?
I will continue using minoxidil for the next few years most likely and will repost a new reviews if my hair starts shedding again.
Other facts I would like to note is that the foam itself seems to make my hair look and feel thicker almost like a styling gel. I did notice a possible increase of shedding in the beginning but this was followed by a clear increase in growth which undid that initial damage. Liquid minoxidil products make my hair look thin after application and are messy and never dry. I do use a liquid off-brand 5% minoxidil at night along with the rogaine foam sometimes b/c I don't care what I look like when I go to bed and I want to spread out the cost. I am now considering just using the foam and not using the liquid to improve results.
I am very happy with this product. I would have given it five stars 3 months ago had my hair not started to shed a little bit again. I give it four to four-and-a-half stars. In my opinion, there's definitely nothing else out right now that I would trust more than rogaine foam to REGROW hair.
~ August 3, 2010 ~ Gary said:Seems to be working...
I'm 44 years old and have been using it for about 4 months now. I feel some hair thickening at the crown and feel like it is steadily improving. It's not like I suddenly have a thick head of hair, but it seems to be helping.

What Causes Hair Loss in Men?
Although there are several causes of hair loss, male pattern baldness (also referred to as androgenetic alopecia or hereditary hair loss) accounts for about 95% of hair loss in men. It is usually triggered by a combination of hormonal activity and heredity, which together cause the hair follicles in your scalp to shrink. Over time, the progressive shrinking of certain scalp follicles leads to a shortening of the hair's growing cycle. Hair becomes thinner and shorter, until there is no growth at all. The active ingredient in ROGAINE, minoxidil, reinvigorates shrunken hair follicles, which increases their size and helps regrow thicker hair over time.
A Pioneer in Hair Regrowth
Like many great discoveries, the power of minoxidil to regrow hair came about by chance. In the 1980s, scientists discovered that minoxidil, being studied for other indications, actually showed signs of regrowing hair.
ROGAINE applied this discovery to produce the first topical brand approved by the FDA to regrow hair. Since then, ROGAINE has empowered millions of people to take control of their hair loss with a series of breakthroughs.
About ROGAINE: A History of Results and Innovation
ROGAINE is the first topical brand approved by the FDA to regrow hair--in both men and women. With more than 20 years of results and over 20,000 people in clinical trials, ROGAINE is the number-one dermatologist-recommended brand for hair regrowth. ROGAINE helps reverse the progression of hereditary hair loss.

I bought this product because I have very sensitive skin and I continued to get a few cuts every time I would shave with a razor. I bought the newest and greatest razor and still had problems. I got this for $40 and I have loved it ever since. It took about ten days for my skin to adjust to it, but I haven't had any problems since, other than a little razor burn every once in a while.
I work with the Air Force and I not only have to be shaven, but I can't be showing any time of "shadow" in uniform. This razor does the job.
For the price, this is the razor I would recommend. If you have $80+ to spend, you can get a better one. But for half the price this one is great!

I had the same type of older Norelco electric razor. It worked really well and lasted about 15 years, but the battery finally wouldn't hold a charge. This new one is mostly plastic, and the motor isn't as strong so the blades don't rotate as fast.
It's a shame Norelco quality has declined. It works okay, but I wouldn't buy one just for the name. You can probably find a razor that works as well for less money.

Interestingly, I had previously owned a Philips shaver with the three rotating cutters, and it was easily my least favorite of all the electric shavers I've had. I guess I am now a believer.

I've had 3 generations of this model over the last 16 years.
Each new model is 4 ways better and 3 ways worse.
Nit-picks: It comes with no case, no battery indicator, and it seems to run a little slower than my previous Norelco 6863XL.
It's *very* light weight, has a lithium ion battery, washable head, and a few other improvements.
If you wait for low tide, you can get it for 35 buckss!
Norelco would like you to buy a new shaving head every year for more money than the whole shaver costs on amazon. But the heads seem to hold up for many years, thank you.
The Norelcos might not shave quite as close as foil-headed reciprocating shavers, but they're quiet, comfortable, and good at tackling 3 day's growth and/or difficult parts of your face. The trimmer is quite useful.
If I lost this shaver, I'd buy it again.

1. The cartirges arrived in an opened package which had labels, probably from a retail store, removed from its back. It was obvious that this "original box" was previously used
2. After using the first blade it felt like I am shaving with sand paper. It was a counterfeit. The top blue layer with soothing gel felt like rubber.
3. I went to Target and bought true original blades to compare. The experience with the original blades was smooth and nice shaving.

These replacements were very easy to install and make for a much better shave than the dull old blades I replaced which were beginning to 'yank' the hairs out instead of cutting them.

After 9 months of use, the trimmer began pulling hair rather than cutting. Keeping a fresh battery in the trimmer helped, but the blades have definitely dulled. Panasonic offers a replacement "blade block" assembly (WER416K1058) for $11.35 (plus $5.95 for shipping). Not really a great value given the price of a new unit and that I can get it shipped free with my Amazon Prime membership.
Pros:
- good sized
- easy to use
- trims nose well when new
- ok choice among limited alternatives
Cons:
- weak job of trimming ear hair - leaves visible stubble
- limited life span
- might best be considered a "disposable" device
Summary: Not sure I would by again. My scissors still work fine.

I looked for a good replacement and came across this Panasonic unit and it really does a decent job. I do find I have a slightly harder time using it around the ear but it does cut the little hairs without any pulling or pain. I'm very happy that this uses a AA battery and is easily replaceable. I am curious how long I'll actually beable to use it before I have to replace the battery. So far I've used it for about 2 weeks and it's still running as strong as it was when I first put the battery in so all looks good.

This is my first experienece with epilating and I must say it is a bit painful for me even after three times of usage. This despite the fact that I have been getting my body professionaly waxed every month so it's not like I have a low pain threshold. I love the fact that that this device has a light that makes you see hairs that you would otherwise miss, and yes, the pain is getting better with each use but I have two problems with it:
I don't know if it's just me, but I have been having more ingrown hair on my legs after using this machine than I ever have.
Second, Although the manual advices against using it on very short hair (I mean hair that's not even reached it's mid length), I like to use it on very short hair or medium length as it eases the pain. Anybody else had a similar experience? Is there any problem with doing this?
I can't say if the machine is better than others, but definetely worth your money as it saves you the money you'll spend on waxing.

I just got this today and tried it right away because my old epilator broke. I still feel a little pain although I have been using them for a long time. It is not really bad, just a little pain. What I liked the most was the ease of use on my underarms. Even though the hair was small, it took all of the hair off. I also used it lightly on my legs and worked really good. Keep in mind I was just trying it so I did not do the whole job on my legs. I will finish tomorrow. I really like the light because it points to the hair that I would not otherwise seen. This is also not as noisy as my old epilator so that is a plus.
I think I am going to like it very much. It has a great grip and I like the plug because is not too big and I can have something else plugged in the bathroom. I have not used the shaver yet but I will update this review as time goes by. I thought the price was reasonable since I had paid about the same amount for my last epilator about 4 years ago.

I only recently tried using an epilator for the first time. I borrowed a friend's emjoi while on vacation and I liked it. I decided to get my own and purchased this instead because it had a lot more reviews than the emjoi epilators with a good average rating. I was disappointed in this. It doesn't do as good of a job removing the hair. It seems to have some trouble removing some hairs and also cuts them instead of pulling from the root. Also, corded is more of a burden than I thought it would be. The epilator is harder to clean. With the emjoi, all I had to do was knock the head on the sink a couple times and it would be completely clean. I didn't want to return someone's epilator with my hairs stuck on it! The Braun on the other hand is a pain to clean even when I use the cleaning brush it's still never clean. The hairs get trapped in the "tweezers" and you'd have to pull hair out of each slot one by one to get it totally clean... Not only that, but this somehow pulled at my skin when I did my armpits and I ended up getting blisters!
I'm returning this one and getting the Emjoi. I should have stuck with what worked for me but I thought this would be better. The only thing that makes this Braun better than Emjoi is that Braun is made in Germany and Emjoi is made in China.
~ September 2, 2010 ~ D. Fitzwater from San Diego said:Wish I had 2!
I love my epilator (bought in 8/08). This was my first one and I bought this one on a recommendation from another mom. I HATED shaving and that every time I would within 12 hours I would be all prickly again. So someone suggested the Bruan Silk-epil for all its perks.
Pros:
The light is the best thing! It helps me find the hair and even the ones that are ingrown so I can get them out first. Even with the 3 lights on in my LR, I can't get enough light to match what the light gives me.
The multiple heads. There is the roller one for the newbies. It does help with the lessening the pain in the beginning (especially if you pull the skin taut). But after the first few uses (6 or so) I graduated to the other one. I still use it for underarms & bikini. The "scraping" one I use now to help pick up the hair so it can be pulled. I only have to do it once a week (when I get around to it).
Pain. IT DOES GET BETTER!!! It does hurt if you don't use it correctly. But I found with the roller head and the lower setting, it helps. I never waxed my legs but did pull my hair out with tweezers. It does sting a bit (like getting the eyebrows waxed) but gets better over time. The more you use it, the less it hurts. The back of the legs around the knees and upper thigh do hurt the worst. But not as much as it did before. Also I burned my legs when I was younger and still have some residual scarring that gives me a bit more pain.
Shaving? I don't shave anymore. I can't stand what happens after I shave and it makes the hair coarser for the next time I do epilate. I stopped doing it for awhile on the underarms & bikini but I think I am going to get back into it. Just make sure you pull the skin taut!
Cons:
Noise. It is a bit noisy but as I have nothing to compare it to, I am not sure how it compares to others. I just use it at night when everyone is asleep.
Over-heat? I do feel that if I use it too long (been awhile for me using it) that it gets hot. So I found that if I watch TV & turn it off during the commercials, it cools down enough so that it will last through the entire session.
Must dos!
-Put a towel under you. It is the best way to catch the hair
-Switch legs if the pain gets too much
-Do it over several days if need be so that there isn't too much pain all at once
-About 4-5 days after finishing the legs, use a scrubbie on your legs depending on when new hair starts to grow back). It helps to stop the ingrown hairs.
-Distract yourself with something; TV, movie, music. It will make the pain lessen as you mind is focused on the TV than on the pain.
I did buy this in the summer of 2008 (2 years ago) but I have not used it on a regular basis (every 1-2 weeks). So I cannot tell you how long it lasts. I am hoping I can get at least one more year out of it. Even if I used it every 2 weeks for 1 year, it still pays for itself with the cost of razors nowadays.
~ August 31, 2010 ~ Terra said:Pretty good piece of electronics
Product Usage:
Some reviews say that it didn't hurt much at all. Other reviews say it hurt a fair bit during the first use. My first time use was very painful and it took quite a while for me to finish the first session. My second session was MUCH quicker and far less painful. Most of the time, I felt a mild plucking sensation as opposed to the "OW!" feeling I had during the first use. If you wax semi-often, it shouldn't hurt much at all. This thing is basically controlled waxing. Sensitive areas of the body included ankles, wrists, elbows, and knees. If you're one of those who find epilation painful on the first use, try setting it to the "slow" mode and twisting your wrist left and right as if you were making paint brush strokes. This will get hairs bit by bit while pulling the epilator back after it grabs a few, reducing the first-time pain from "constant" to "semi-constant".
Women with smaller hands may find the unit a little akward to use, especially when getting the hard to reach spots like the back of a leg or arm. Also, I've never felt a pinching feeling when the epilator is pressed too close to the skin. Finally, redness will occur from use so I advise using it a full 24-48 hours BEFORE going somewhere important or when doing something in which you feel looks matter. Two days after use and still smooth skinned! I have seen many people suggest using a mild moisturizer though after epilation to soothe your skin.
The Smartlite:
Ingenious idea! It helps highlight the hairs in the area you've got the light near and can show you hair in places you might not have expected to see it in. Without this, I would never know if I had gotten all the hairs or not.
Product came with:
The epilator came with a "beginner" head that's supposed to sooth the skin and lessen the feeling of pain through vibrations but I haven't noticed a difference between either the beginner head or the precision head. It also came with a shaving head for the men afraid to try it on a particularly long haired area. The shaver also came with an attachment that combs the longer hair is "certain areas" into the trimmer, making for easy shaving/trimming. The trimmed hair doesn't feel prickly or stabby-sharp like hair does a day after shaving.
Storage:
The product came with a durable feeling, draw-string pouch large enough to contain everything. Everything being the shaver head, various attachments, power cord, cleaner brush, and the epilator itself without feeling as if I were cramming the pouch overly full of things. So, storage is fairly easy.
Cons:
Occasionally, I had to turn the machine off to let the motor cool off in fear of it otherwise burning out during my first-time area use session because it was taking so long due to me being a wimp with pain. Second time use, I didn't encounter this problem. Secondly, it is a bit noisy so I avoid using it late at night or before the average household bed time.
Overall, this is a good product and worth the money but I would still suggest people shop around for the best price. $50 USD+ is a LOT of money to pay for anything these days so make sure you get the best damned deal you can!

So I said to the woman I can either get the 15$ beard trimmer or one that is more expensive but is supposed to have a vacuum in it. I got the T980 and I'm really really impressed. I trimmed the Fuzz and it made no mess whatsoever. Amazing!
~ August 31, 2010 ~ Reflector from MA, USA said:Doesn't do what I need - returned it the next day
I bought this to replace a 4 year old Norelco G390 which served me reasonably well for the past 4 years till its NiCd battery died (bought at a "warehouse" store for just under $20).
There are over 600 reviews with an average of 4 stars and I thought "how can 600+ people be wrong?" so I bought it.
Dumb idea.
I won't go through all the pros and not even all the cons so you'll need to read other reviews, I'll just focus on why I simply can't use it and had to return it:
1. The distance from the comb interface to the blade - the part that goes up and down and stays at the same distance from the blade - is 1/8 inch longer than on the G390. This is due to the vacuum duct. As a result I was simply not able to get all the way up my mustache to trim it - it simply hit the nose. Other angles of approach or even the lowest trim setting didn't work. I was left with a funny looking longer part of the mustache and looking like a dictator from the previous century which i will not name. I ended up taking the comb attachment off the blade and, using a real comb like hairdressers used to do, trimmer the rest of the way manually. Suffice to say I did not pay $[...] so I could do that.
I'll post the image comparing the G390 to this one on Amazon and you can see for yourself how it limit the reach of the blade.
2. The vacuum is useless. Sure, it capture a lot of the hair but enough of it drop out too. There is no way I would use it anywhere else but over a sink and even then I'll have to clean both the sink and the little transparent bin - so why pay extra.
I've returned it to Amazon the next day.
I'm going to look for the G390 or another similar model from Norelco - the G390 was about half price, didn't have vacuum or direct AC but did have multiple attachments, upright stand and lasted 4 years despite the antiquated battery technology.
~ August 30, 2010 ~ ReVolution said:Big Improvemements over older types
Main downsides: Made in China and has non replaceable battery, no removable hair chamber-only small door opens and have to shake whole trimmer over garbage can to get hair out.
Pros: Locks guide into place much better, more comfortable to use, turbo mode cuts longer beards a little better and gets more of cut hair into holding chamber- though by no means all of the hair gets collected, seems better built all around vs older version, travel case is nice enough and has slightly better instructions on use and maintenence of product.
All in all a good buy overall and a great value, though I'd happily pay $20 more if made moslty if not entirely in USA

I've worn a beard for 15 years, and have tried everything from full sized Oster clippers to a variety of trimmers. None compare to this item. This makes facial hair maintenance a snap. The built-in vacuum keeps the trimmings in a chamber and not all over the vanity. Can't recommend this highly enough.
~ August 30, 2010 ~ DozaBK said:Great shaver
I was happily surprised that the vacuum feature actual does work. Normally when i trim my beard the bathroom counter is covered in hair which is annoying to clean, but with this buzzer about 85% of the hair gets contained in the buzzer and is easily emptied. Also the range of buzzing lengths is very good. Over all so far i really like the buzzer.

What makes Gillette Fusion® ProGlide better than Gillette Fusion® ?
What makes Fusion ProGlide better than Fusion is technological innovation. The razor has been reengineered and redesigned to create Gillette's Most Comfortable Shave.
Gillette Fusion ProGlide shares the same core technology as Gillette Fusion ProGlide Power: thinner, finer shaving blades, a low resistance coating and the redesigned Precision Trimmer Blade. In addition to this:
The improved blade stabilizer helps maintain precise blade spacing for optimal comfort. The redesigned handle now has larger, more ergonomic grips for better control. The enhanced Lubrastrip is now larger, with more lubricants and a touch of mineral oil. The redesigned precision trimmer now features an improved razor blade and anti-clogging rinse slots. The streamlined comfort guard offers channels to help clear away excess shave prep.Together, these technologies combine to create Gillette's Most Comfortable Shave.
How does the Gillette® Fusion® ProGlide handle compare with the Gillette Fusion handle?
The Fusion ProGlide now has ergonomic side grips for better handling.
How long will the Gillette® Fusion® ProGlide cartridge last?
How long a cartridge lasts varies from person to person, as it is dependent on many variables such as beard toughness and thickness, beard preparation, shaving habits, and skin sensitivity. The Gillette Fusion ProGlide's reformulated Indicator Lubrastrip will provide you with a visual cue - it fades to white - when optimal shave conditions have been reduced. When this happens, you may want to change your cartridge for a more comfortable shave.
How was the Precision Trimmer redesigned?
The blade was improved and anti-clogging rinse slots were added.
What is the Streamlined Comfort Guard with channels? What are the benefits of the Streamlined Comfort Guard?
Gillette® Fusion® ProGlide features a new Streamlined Comfort Guard. The soft, flexible material surrounds the microfins, creating an outer edge that wraps around the sides of the cartridge and channels that clear away excess shave prep. This Streamlined Comfort Guard follows the contours of your face to help the shaving surface of the razor comfortably shave close.
Have there been any enhancements to the lubrication strip?
Yes. It now contains more lubricants and a touch of mineral oil.
Will the Gillette® Fusion® ProGlide cartridge fit any other razors on the market?
The Gillette Fusion ProGlide cartridge features a new razor blade that fits on any Gillette Fusion, Fusion ProGlide or Fusion ProGlide Power handle.
Is it better to use hot, cold, or warm water to shave?
Warm water is best for hydrating beard hair. Soaking in warm water softens hair and causes it to expand, making it 70% easier to cut.
What is the best way to avoid razor burn?
If the skin is not properly prepared before shaving or if the blade on your razor is dull, you are more likely to end up with razor burn. Make sure to hydrate hair in warm water for up to three minutes and apply plenty of shave gel. Also, be sure to change the blade on your razor at the first sign of dullness or discomfort.
Is it okay to let my girlfriend or wife borrow my men's razor?
For both hygiene and performance, it's not a good idea to share your razor with your partner. Women have a much larger area to shave and you may find that after only a few shaves, your blade has dulled considerably, increasing the likelihood of nicks and cuts. Tell her to try a razor specifically designed for the way a woman shaves, such as Gillette® Venus® Embrace®.
Does shaving make your hair grow back thicker?
Scientists at Gillette have conducted extensive testing on the effects shaving has on both male and female hair growth, texture and color. This testing has proven that shaving does not affect hair growth, color or texture. Shaving does, however, alter the tip shape of the regrown hair, which may initially change the way hair feels as it grows back. But if hair is left to re-grow completely, it will return to its former state.
In what direction should I shave to achieve the best shave?
Men's facial hair tends to grow in different directions. Start by shaving with light, gentle strokes with the grain. Then, if necessary, go against the grain for an even closer shave.
What is the difference between disposable and refillable razors?
The entire shaving razor is discarded when you are through with a disposable razor. With a refillable razor, only the blade cartridge is replaced. Refillable razors like Gillette® Fusion® ProGlide and Gillette Fusion incorporate more advanced blade technology and ergonomics vs. most disposables for great control and a close comfortable shave.
What is the difference between a single, double, triple and 5-blade razor? Which is best?
Gillette's research has demonstrated that single blade technology, which has been applied since 1901, is demonstrably inferior to twin blade shaving systems such as SensorExcel®, and even more so to 5-blade systems such as Gillette® Fusion® ProGlide. But the number of blades alone does not ensure a superior shave. The 5-blade shaving surface of Fusion ProGlide Power features progressive blade alignment, patented blade coating process and a flexible comfort guard which collectively provide Gillette's best shave.
How do I avoid nicks and cuts, particularly above my upper lip?
The area above the upper lip is tricky for many men. To help avoid nicks and cuts, always leave it for last. Apply plenty of shave gel or shaving cream and allow this area to soak up as much lather as possible. When shaving, don't apply too much pressure. Gillette® Fusion® ProGlide's Precision Trimmer is really useful when shaving under the nose.

I have used the Braun's cleaning system/shaver units before. They are quite expensive compared to this but had a fresh scent and better cleaned feeling. This one works for sure but didn't like the scent very much (smells like a very hard/strong soap). But, definitely convenient than washing the shaver myself.

As a longtime user of Braun shavers (20 years), each model was a significant and welcome improvement over the last. Until now.
Previous models shaved so well that my wife thought I used a blade. For the 3 months I tried this model, I used my 4-year old 6000 series to clean up everything this expensive shaver missed. People commented on my 'one day' stubble the same day I shaved with this razor. For shaving quality, this model was a visible step down from earlier Brauns.
Although quieter than other models, there's no audible confirmation of clipped beard hairs as they're cut, so it's harder to brush over an area and hear whether you got additional hairs you'd missed before.
There are improvements such as the trimmer that folds nicely away into a stylish and rubber-accented grip. It also has a clean silver look with a nice blue LED accent. Although the base is too busy-looking for my tastes, it's shaped well and looks sturdy for being made of plastic. You honestly couldn't buy a better-looking shaver.
But for a close shave, this is a huge step back for Braun. Although their new shave head does a great job of retaining clippings and catching those pesky hairs that lay flat against your skin, the overall shave is far inferior to previous models. Worse, the entire line of Braun shavers including the 3 and 5 series all use a variation of this inferior shave head as well. As a result, I've turned to discontinued Braun shavers (6000 and 8000 series) and grudgingly turned in my longtime Braun fan-boy status for a move to Panasonic.
PROS:
For those with soft beards, this may work well
Gets hairs pressed flat against your skin very well
Attractive and accurate charging level display
Retains shavings better than earlier models (fewer flecks fall out)
Quieter shaver (not as noisy) than others
CONS:
Pop out trimmer isn't as wide as previous models
Trimmer has odd angle (hard to see where you're trimming)
Shaver looks ergonomic, but is hard to hold firmly in hand
Shave head becomes unbearably hot after 10 minutes of use
Unnecessary cleaning solution
Travel case holds shaver only, not charging cord
Charging cord is bulky (huge head on outlet side)
With cleaning base, takes up a lot of space on countertop
Braun provides a 90-day guarantee if you don't like the shaver. So, if you're on the fence, give it a try.
If you don't like it and choose to return it, get ready to walk the gauntlet and wait a long time for your refund. The Braun web site makes it nearly impossible to find the return location (keep the form that comes with your shaver for these details). Braun requires 8-12 weeks to even notify you (by mail) that they received your shaver and then even longer to cut a refund check. Their refund center has a looping phone tree that suggests you can check the status of your return but endlessly loops to a recording of the location to mail your shaver instead. Obviously keep your receipt. Also send your return with a Delivery Confirmation to preserve your costly investment.
~ August 17, 2010 ~ W. Horng from Charlotte, NC USA said:Large premium over older model
The previous version, 790CC was $180-$190 at Amazon until it was sold out and this new one (790CC-4) is currently $269.99. That is a $80 - $90 premium (or 42% - 50% more expensive)...
Trivial fact, the MSRP of the regular 790CC was also $269.99.
The only differences I can see are:
1) Different color scheme (black/silver)
2) Variable settings (called personalization modes)
3) New foil (OptiFoil)?
I cannot even tell if it is a new foil since the replacement head cassette part for the 790CC-4 (also known as type: 5692) is the 70S. The regular 790CC (type 5671) also uses the 70S...
By the way the part number for the 70S is 65671768.
My sources are the use/instruction manual for the 790CC-4 states 70S and the Braun Canada service website for the 790CC-4 also states 70S.
Just a fyi, you cannot find the 790CC-4 on the Braun US website since they have not updated it yet...
So right now it seems like there are only two differences between the 790CC-4 and 790CC, but here is a curve ball:
The Braun global website (or any Braun website with the 790CC-4) shows there is a difference between the OptiFoil and Smart Foil:
[...]
However (yes there is more), the Amazon Germany website shows the Braun 70S as having the OptiFoil technology... The thing is the Amazon Germany Braun 70S product page was created on January 1, 2007. I guess they can update the product page anytime they want.
Could it be that the Braun 70S will eventually get an update with the OptiFoil or is OptiFoil the same thing as the Smart Foil?
Regardless I am putting my money on a negligible difference between OptiFoil and Smart Foil.
Unless there is something else I am missing, $80-$90 is quite a bit more for what you get (only two or *maybe* three differences!). One of them being a simple change in colors...
They did not even improve the trimmer!
~ August 16, 2010 ~ D. Smith from Miami, FL United States said:First shave out of box, stunning results!
I've had a top of the line Braun 8000 series (8595) for about 6+ years. It just started to fail recently - I didn't feel like trying another replacement foil/blade and after over 2,000 shaves - I guess it's hard to complain. If this new one lasts the same duration, then it will be well worth the money for just over $0.12 per day plus consumables (cleaning solution & replacement foils).
I opened this new shaver morning (790-CC4), charged it, and started using it. I like the variable setting (3-steps) for mild to intense. I like the feel of it and although the display is less sophisticated than my old one, this one might be more practical in usage. It has a Li-Ion battery and so is a bit lighter, and seems well-constructed.
The real test is the shave - and this is the best result I've ever had from shaving with an electric. On rare occasions I'll use a blade for a special occasion and a blade is usually much closer than most electrics - but I've been okay with a slight sacrifice using an electric in the past. My face right now feels so shockingly smooth, I'd swear I shaved with a blade this morning... So the proof is in the pudding - and I'd wholeheartedly recommend this shaver if you're partial to electrics.

It takes too much time to do the job, for a close shave you have to go through the same area at least 4 times. The battery life is questionable because during a 10 min shave is seems like the speed is getting worse as if battery was getting weaker, so there may be some problems with the battery in the long term and there is no option to use it with a cable.

I have tried several electric trimmers all of them where the rotary style. The design of this trimmer looked different so I decided to give it a try. This thing is great. Plenty of power and the angle of the cutter head lets you get right where you need it. The cutter blades do a great job as well not leaving anything behind. The lack of power was the issue with the rotary trimmers, but not with this one, you can tell right away this thing will work. And trimming your eye brow has never been easier. Getting just inside your ear canal is also a great attribute. Give it a try you won't be disappointed.

It works pretty well, but not as well as tweezers......like most old guys, I have way too much hair to deal with......I will continue using the thing, but won't give up the tweezers any time soon.....

I started using Regenerist when I was 40. My skin has always looked older than I am, and I received a couple of free samples. You use such a tiny bit that the samples lasted me about 10 days.
My skin looked and felt so nice after 10 days that I went ahead and bought some. I thought it was too expensive at the time, but that little tiny bottle lasted a long time!
I've been using it for six years now and I can certainly tell when I run out. This helps with the little tiny patchwork of lines that show up on my eye lids, and really makes my skin soft and somehow more alive looking.

If this product is supposed to help your skin, why are there 6 different types of silicone; count them.
Dimethicone is a silicone. It is an ingredient used to make the skin shiny or to plump it up. So,
all those people thinking this product is helping them get rid of wrinkles are really getting that affect
from the filler more than the limited number of "peptides" this product has. Of which, this product only has
one. I question how much any of the helpful ingredients get through the cells membrane barrier when there is
so much filler, and on top of this no ingredients with "liposomal" in them. Liposomes are designed to get
through the cells outer membrane barrier.

Believe me, this stuff is the best you can get, without a prescription! It is right up there, in the same league as RETIN-A. I know how this works; I am a Biochemist! Regenerist stimulates Collagen growth, both in the upper layers of the epidermis and underneath the skin.

I'm 57 and I've been using this serum for at least 6 years. I love the fact that Olay eventually came out with this fragrance-free version, that in itself is a huge selling point for me. And it works! Most people think I'm at least 15 years younger than I really am. I have a few very fine wrinkles only when I squint, and that's it.
I am a normal-to-dry skin type in the winter and normal during the other seasons. This serum really helps keep my skin hydrated with the harsh winter winds, and in the summer sometimes this is all I need as a moisturizer if I'm not going to be outdoors - otherwise I also apply a high SPF product if I plan on being outside.
Yes, the silicones in this help with the dryness and they also help to blur the fine lines. I also use a dab of this on my crows feet. But you may need to watch out if you have a problem with milia. I occasionally get a few, but I do with just about every other product I have tried so it doesn't matter what I use. I like the results with this; I've tried other brands without the "cones" and they just don't work for me.
This serum contains many ingredients that are beneficial to your skin such as peptides, niacinamide, several vitamins and green tea, which are often found in much higher priced beauty products.
Pros: Hydrating; almost instant blurring of wrinkles due to the silicones; great ingredients; no discernable fragrance.
Cons: The silicones can cause milia occasionally; Olay tests on animals and this bothers me & I wish they would find another way to test their products before putting them on the market -- other companies do, why can't Olay?
I recommend this for anyone with normal or normal-to-dry skin. If you have a problem with acne, probably not, but maybe if you are brave enough, you could do a test first.
