I bought this as a gift for my friend's tiny dog. He's about 6 lbs. He's half chihuahua and shih tzu but his hair is like chihuahua and sheds way too much all year round. I wanted to see if this furminator works on small dogs because some people say it doesn't while others say it does. I gotta say, it definitely works! The small furminator actually works and I'm very very impressed. So impressed that I went and bought the large one for my other friend's dog, german shepherd. of course, this price is the lowest of the low. Even though a newer model came out, the local pet stores still carry this older version with a $40 price tag. C'mon! Go buy this furminator before it's gone from amazon.

Okay, some of the reviews on this site say the furminator is junk, others love it. I am right in the middle. First of all, I would probably be less happy if I paid retail for this product. But I got it for $29 with a free bottle of shampoo, so that was okay. I have two german shepherd dogs, a regular and a long hair. This product works great on the shorter haired dog, taking out gobs of his fluffy undercoat. It works better than a slicker brush, and about as well as a newer horse shedding blade. The thing is, it doesn't get dull after a short amount of time like the horse shedding blade will, and the hair is a cinch to grab off the furminator blade so it is easier to dispose of. The product works equally well on the undercoat of my long haired dog BUT, it actually CUTS the hairs on her beautiful topcoat as well. So now she's got cowlicks galore. I am just glad that I did not use it on her beautiful fluffy tail. So you will need to see if this product works well on your individual dog's coat. I think they offer a money-back guarantee, so be sur to save your receipt!

Borrowed the smaller version of the FURminator from a friend and loved it! Went to look for it in a pet store and realized that they were VERY expensive so I checked on-line and found it at Amazon for a fraction of the price (80% off the retail price in the store!).
The FURminator is so much better than a regular dog brush...the fine comb gets under the top layer of fur to the undercoat and does a fabulous job of deshedding while not too abrasive to the dog's skin. I'm not sure that it eliminates 90% of my dog's shedding as the package suggests but it is nonetheless a worthwhile tool and glad I have one!

This brush is incredible! It really does work like it shows in the infomercials. My only complaint is that the hair flies everywhere when you brush the cat. My cat is an indoor cat, and is very skiddish, so can't be taken outside. I think if I could take her outside to brush her, I'd be happier. Now I just have to vacuum the whole room after I use the brush on her. She loves getting brushed by it, and runs to me when she sees me pick it up. I can't believe how much hair comes off!

I only give this 4 stars soley because of the price; Amazon had the best price, but it was still a bit steep. This tool worked better than anything else. I had been using a flea comb strategically angled, and that worked until it got old for the cat, who let me know when she'd have enough. A brush was useless, and those mitts and wire "slickers" were laughable.
When I started using the FURminator, I was ready for a fight; but my kitty did not seem to mind, and I was able to remove handfuls of loose hair in a short period of time. My cat looks and feels better!

The price on this was absolutely fantastic. I went to the local pet store and this was selling for about 40-50 dollars.
While I did not get as much hair as some of the pictures, it gave us a few handfuls from our cat.
Great product, make sure to brush softly!

I bought this item from [...] and had it shipped to the store for pickup at no charge. It's super sturdy, easy to put together and expand with the extension. The inside footage was a lot bigger than I expected from the picture online. I added the extension anyway. Now there's so much space for her to play in (unlike her pak-n-play) she can almost get running. Also, because it's so durable it can be used outdoors and folds up in a snap for travel. It's great to bring to the park or beach. A place to build a sand castle in safety. Highly recommended.

We have two dogs that LOVE getting next to our 9 month old baby. They are very sweet but the hair and slobber on her toys is not so sweet. This gate fits in the living room nicely and is large enough to hold plenty of toys and even big enough for my 6'2" husband to comfortably play inside with her. Dogs can still get close and see her but no more dog slobber on her or her toys.
Folding and unfolding is a little awkward but since we leave it up all the time it's not a big deal for us. We love it!
~ August 23, 2010 ~ T. Ellis from Boston, MA United States said:Great for small dogs too!
This identical to some of the pet pens found in pet stores yet costs a lot less. It's a great size for our mini dachshund. There's plenty of room for a bed, food, water, and a 21"x21" puppy pad. If you do plan on using this for a pet and have hardwood or carpet, I'd suggest getting a sheet of cheap vinyl flooring from a hardware store and placing it under the pen. If you get 3' of the standard 12' wide role you can cut it in half and have 2, 3'x6' rectangles (cost me $15 at Lowes) - fits perfectly under the pen when shaped like a rectangle and protects your floor from water, pee, etc. I like to open and close one of the panels so I can leave the "door" open for the dog when I'm home. My only complaint is that it's really designed for that - it's not easy to do and it takes a few times to get the hang of it. I've also pinched my fingers a few times in the process.

I've never had a flea problem like the one I've had this year. I've used Frontline Plus many years but this year it simply didn't work. Holy water would've done a better job at repelling fleas on my dog and cats, they were completely miserable and my 18 yo persian died. I don't know if it was flea related but I have to wonder after the research I've done. I've called many of the veterinarians in my area and NONE of them are recommending Frontline Plus now as they have said they have had too many complaints regarding the fact it appears it simply isn't doing its job any longer. I secured newer agents for my dog and the cat I have left, both of which worked. My suggestion, DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY.

I can't get anything else to work! I hate to say it, but I've tried about everything on my two small dogs. I've hired Terminix to spray my front and back yards, I use Capstar 24 hour pills as a supplement, I've tried not only Frontline, but two or three others of the same type. None of them work. I live in Alabama, and we do have some tough tropical weather down here, in the Summer, but I just can't seem to have any luck with Frontline.

We've been using this for Wolfie, our fantastic Norwich terrier ever since we got him at the age of eight weeks.
Frontline Plus is the undisputed gold standard of protection against parasites for both dogs & cats of all breeds & sizes.
Like everything else I buy online, I use only the most reliable merchant websites & choose the one offering the lowest price & best delivery terms. For my last order, the Amazon marketplace offered the best deal.
Which reminds me to recommend signing up for Amazon Prime if you do a lot of online shopping. Shipping costs can add up to a considerable amount over time, & I find that the annual fee for Amazon Prime saves me tons of money on shipping costs & makes Amazon's customarily attractive pricing even more competitive.

My first experience with buying Frontline from an Amazon seller was great. It kept the fleas off the entire month for 6 months in a row. The second time, the Frontline I got must have been a fake and didn't work at all. At first I thought my dog was just rolling in a flea farm so after two months of applications, I took her to the vet for advice.
My vet told me that the Frontline brand is extremely good, and since we apply it correctly, the only reason that it wouldn't work is if we got a bogus Frontline from an online retailer.
So we switched to buying Advantage from my vet. I do not want to risk spending $70 on fake Frontline again.

I have 3 male cats including one 30 pounder. I was really tired of loading 30 pound containers of litter into my SUV and then taking garbage bags full of used litter out to the trash. My first transition was to the Pine pellets and a litter box similar to the Breeze. No matter how clean I kept the boxes, there was always an offensive odor. Then a friend discovered the Breeze. I started with one Breeze box and left my existing boxes in use. The cats urinated in the Breeze box, but no poop. Slowly and gradually they began to poop in the Breeze box. I added a second Breeze box and still left the existing boxes. Finally I added a third Breeze. Then, one by one, I began removing the original boxes one at a time over a several week period. It was a flawless transition. I never have any pee on the floor as others have mentioned. Each morning I scoop out the poop and flush it down the toilet. I change the pads every seven to ten days. I don't have litter tracked all over the house. I don't have litter in my bed. There is absolutely NO smell in the second bedroom where I keep the 3 Breeze boxes. All of my friends who purchased Breeze boxes are equally thrilled. It's the only way to go.

~ August 31, 2010 ~ Health Nut from California said:I like my cats again!
I have two cats with two different outlooks on cat-life and litter boxes. Kip wouldn't care if I EVER changed his clay clump litter box. He is not particular, a super easygoing guy and sees no need for change. But Cutie is quite particular, prissy and regal-like and although doesn't prefer change either, was ready for a new waste system. I could tell. She always looked at me in disgust when she would exit her clay clump litter box as if to say "this is a disgusting way to eliminate my waste." Me? I was disgusted with the urine smell permeating throughout my new house. I was also tired of the constant bending over to clean and wash the litter boxes weekly if not sooner. Ugh. I was over it. Getting rid of my adult kitties, Kip and Cutie, was not an option, so the search began for a new system.
I struck gold by finding the Tidy Cats Breeze Litter Box System. It was a slow start for the transition from the disgusting clay clumping urine smelling hooded litter boxes to the airy, open hard pellet, urine tray underneath litter boxes. Why they took so long to transition to a cleaner system, I have no idea. The kitties never told me. I bought two Tidy Breeze litter systems because Cutie does not share. I was hoping the kitties would adapt to the new system because I was determined to make it work. There were a few times in the early stage that one kitty (not sure who the culprit was) would eliminate on the floor near the new litter box. But I cleaned the floor several times and stuck it out and eventually they both used the new system. They have even claimed which kitty belongs in which box. It took over a month for BOTH kitties to use their box. During the transition, I had a clump litter box nearby and Kip used it for the whole month until I finally threw it away. I never changed the litter in the old box which was recommended on other reviews and on the directions.
The manufacturers recommend you change the pellets once a month - I do it every two months which works fine, probably because I have two litter boxes. One time, I ran out of their urine pads and used a puppy potty pad that was loose fitting and not nearly as absorbent. Bad idea. The tray overflowed with urine and Cutie was more disgusted than I was. So make sure you have ample urine pads if you have a Cutie-type in your house.
The only negative I can find is that when the kitties really get into "covering" their waste, they spend a lot of time scraping the hard pellets until full coverage is accomplished and in the middle of the night this is a loud activity. I have had the system for about 4 months now and lately they don't even bother "covering" the waste. They poop and run. All said and done, the pros far outweigh the one con.
In my case, with my two large adult kitties, this system works beautifully because of two reasons; 1) I was patient (for over a month) for the kitties to become accustomed to the new system and 2) I purchased two systems, one for each cat. They work great. As soon as they poop in them, I scoop and flush and I change their urine pads about once a week. This has made a huge difference in my relationship with my kitties. I like them again. They actually meow to me when their boxes need to be changed and I accommodate them asap in return for a fresher smelling house and no more back breaking concrete-clump cleaning.
~ August 30, 2010 ~ CherryGal said:BEST LITTER PROGRAM FOR MULTIPLE CATS
Without question, the Breeze Litter System is the best for a multiple cat household. The cats love it too. I especially love that they are not breathing in the dust inevitably generated by lesser litter systems, which in the past has caused some asthmatic reactions in my babies. I also love that it is so easy to clean and keep clean. As long as you do this, there is little if any odor buildup. About twice a year I take the entire box outside and hose it off, but otherwise all you need to do is replace the pee pads (I do this once a week) and refill litter as it diminishes when you lift the poops out. Each box comes with its own litter scoop which sits handily on the edge. They recommend having one box per cat. I now have a five cat household. I seem to be the place everyone in my small town dumps their unwanted kitties. Right now we are getting by with two boxes, but I'll expand to 3 boxes soon. That really will be sufficient. A super super system!! A little more expensive but defnitely worth it in the pleasant surroundings it yields versus the constant kitty pee smell other systems, no matter how hard you try to keep them clean, produce.

The best feature is that the hair is collected in the in the head of the tool and with a simple press of the button it is easily ejected. No more struggling to clean out bristles or hair flying everywhere. It really is a must have!

This thing works GREAT on my roommates dogs, but not on my beagle/pit mix. One of their dogs is a long haired dog, and the other short, like my pup, but he has an undercoat so it actually pulls out his hair. I guess it was one of those hit and miss things, but I wish I would have known that there was a chance it wouldn't work BEFORE I dropped the money on it. Also, the "FURejector" kind of sticks (the button is really short) and it's not ergonomic if the dog isn't facing the right direction. One last thing: I've heard that it actually cuts the hair and that's why it's so effective (not a good thing if you like to obsessively brush), but I haven't researched this. I have yet to find something that curbs my dog's shedding hair...

He had tremors, was lethargic, had trouble standing and walking, vomited several times, and had foul-smelling diarrhea. I washed the stuff off him immediately, but it took a few days for him to recover. Other pet owners haven't been as lucky and their pets have died. Frontline Plus is even recommended as being not as toxic as other meds. He said that others have complained about the same situation we experienced and that he was planning on not stocking it any longer because of that. His opinion was that Frontline doesn't kill fast enough and that after a period of time the fleas adapt and are able to prosper. We've changed to Advantage and all fleas have vanished over a 2 week period. We've used Advantage in the past and now will stay with it again. Sorry Frontline....you need to improve your product!

Angel Eyes is a wonderful product, it really starts working right away. Its important that when you start using the product, you first clean the eyes and cut the red hair around the eye because the hair that is already red is not going to get white. Well they loved this so they pretty much killed the squekers immediately. Even so my Lab has fun with this as long as I play with it with him. It really only took him minutes to figure it out but he still has fun removing the squirrels. It's not something I can just set out and have it occupy his time. Still looking for anything that can keep the Labs interest for a long time other than something edible (which really he can eat anything edible within a few minutes)
It's fun and I have to recommend it but don't expect it to hold up to a heavy chewer. My smaller Shiba Inu probably could play with it for days without breaking it but the Lab is just to powerful.

I really like this product. My dog had fun finding the squirrels over and over again. The squirrels are pretty small so my dog did end up chewing up the squirrels and now I need to buy the replacement squirrels. I have a husky so she chews just about everything. She really enjoyed this toy though and I would recommend it. I'm even going to look at buying the Hide A Bee product as well.

I thought I would try this for my new dog (a Cavachon -- a mix of Cavalier King Charles and Bichon Frise) because the price was right and the reviews were favorable.
It's so adorable! The tree has little knots sticking out and is well lined; much more detail than I expected. The 3 squirrels have to be crammed pretty tightly to fit in the tree at the same time, so we just do 1 or 2 at a time. What I didn't expect is that my dog loves the tree trunk as much as the squirrels! She'll chase it, chew on it, and toss it around as much without the squirrels as she does with them.
The squirrels are cute and it's easy for her to make them squeak. They're great for games of "fetch". The only drawback is that the Mohawk hairdo and whiskers can be chewed off with enough effort. Otherwise everything has proven sturdy and well worth the price.

I know this is not a review of the merchant but wanted to alert that I rec'd the regular not premium filters. Since this is because Amazon had affixed the wrong barcode to the package I assume this could happen to others. Rather than exchange them I asked amazon to credit me the price difference which is not a standard return choice and they did so promptly! The standard filters are good but I was looking forward to trying the premium since they seem to get icky fast. I have 2 big dogs (1 slobbery!) using the big dog fountain so this filter gets put to the test. I clean the whole fountain weekly and the standard filter lasted ~1mo before it got to the point that cleaning it did not get rig of icky smell. When I did not have clean filters handy I left it out (instructions say it can be used without a filter just fine) and noticed the water got nasty mid-week.
I know this is not a review of these filters but figured it might be helpful. I chose the number of stars that was currently the average rating so as not to skew things. Next order in a few months and I will update this if I am still using the fountain,

I have not had 1 problem with these filters as long as I use them as the instructions say. Pre-Rinse, insert properly, and clean entire fountain weekly. The only time I have ever seen "SLIME" on these filters is when I didn't clean the fountain for 4 weeks. I even went 2 months without changing the filter 1 time and didn't see slime because I was cleaning the fountain weekly. Use the product as the manual says and you should not have any problems at all.

I would love to give this box five stars, and I would have, if two out of the three I purchased had not broken already (two months). The box is simple to clean and is a lot easier on my back and arm BUT the little plastic clips that hold the lid tight (and all of the litter inside the box) break VERY easily. You don't know they are broken until you roll the box over and roll it back to reveal a huge pile of litter on the floor! A simple piece of strong duct tape has fixed the problem, and the boxes are still usable, but what a huge pain. I went ahead and taped up the third one just to be sure.
~ August 31, 2010 ~ Djnork said:Clean, cheap, and easy
This is simply the best litter box we have come across. It's a simple idea, but so far works flawlessly for us. Flipping it over is so easy we do it a couple of times a day. Our cats are vigorous diggers, so sometimes their urine sticks to the bottom, however when we flip it over we just hit the outside with our hand and everything falls off without any mess. The pull out tray works great and after two weeks still looks clean. Both of our cats are very petite, but we bought the large version anyway and I just can't imagine getting the smaller one. Even though it's big on the outside the usable space inside is only about two thirds of the footprint, which seems about right for the room our cats need. We use World's Best Cat Litter inside. They do track it out a little but that has nothing to do with the litter box itself, it's just a characteristic of the litter. I had my doubts that this would work when I first ordered it, but now I'm considering getting a second one for another room in the house. My wife and I are trying to get pregnant and I travel a lot with work. We are both concerned with making sure our kids are not exposed to toxoplasmosis (if you don't know what it is look here - [...]. I'm confident that this will enable her to completely avoid contact with the cat litter even when she's home alone. That alone would make this work 3-4 times the price. We looked at the Litter Robot, which seems great, but for only 1/10 of the price I don't see any reason not to choose this instead, unless you leave your cats alone for very extended periods and need the self-cleaning aspect.
~ August 31, 2010 ~ Christina C. from United States said:Very disappointed, gone back to scooping.
I bought several of these litter boxes after reading the reviews. If they were well made, they would work well, but they are not. Litter gets in between the pieces making the edges not line up, and litter leaks out when the box is tilted. Also, the grate that separates the clumps from the litter comes unsnapped (and eventually breaks) making it useless. I clean these boxes the old way now- remove the lids and scoop. Great design idea, but they are just too flimsy and cheaply made to work as intended.

I was skeptical as we had previously owned a LitterMaid Self Cleaning litter box (10 yrs ago) which was loud, forced you to buy their liners and had to be placed near an outlet. We recently adopted 2 cats and needed a new litter box, but we didn't want to put it near an outlet. Based on the reviews we purchased this one and we have used the Omega Litter Box for about 5 days with two cats and I am really impressed--it's so easy to use my kids are doing it and thanks to high quality clumping litter I can quickly clean it without any gross debris left in the tray. Instructions are printed right on top of the unit. I highly recommend this litter box and we like it far more than the automated one we had previously. I'd give it 5 stars if it would reduce the odor faster (before I emptied it) and I'd give it 10 stars if it would automatically clear and take it out to the trash as well ;-).

Be sure to understand what this medicine is to be used for, it will kill fleas but not eggs or larva.
It only kills the fleas that bite the animal while it is active.
It will not stop new fleas from infesting your pet after it wears off.
We did a complete flea treatment of our house at the same time we gave this medicine to our cat.

I read a few reviews where people were crushing this in food. My cats might be a special case, but this delivery route didn't appear to work with them. I tried, twice, and nothing happened. Once I made them swallow a pill, the fleas started jumping ship within 20 minutes.
Another thing I learned - don't pour a crushed pill in your cat's mouth. He'll foam and slobber and get really pissed off. And it also doesn't work.
TLDR: crushing up pills might not work for you. Forcing a cat to swallow a pill isn't that bad. It's a lot easier than giving them a bath, and they forgive you, immediately.

I have a beagle mix who likes to drag out his howl in the worst way so I started using the spray collar. At first he was really depressed because he didn't know what was going on, but after a bit he adjusted. As time went on, I realized it was useful to stop him from digging and being too rowdy with the other dogs in the house. It got to a point where he wore the collar too often (the instructions say not to do that) and he got used to it. Now he knows when he has it on and when he doesn't and behaves accordingly. This is definately my fault, but it's important to know if you're thinking about buying this product, IT IS NOT AN EQUAL REPLACEMENT OF TRAINING. It's also not natural to the species to strap a collar with a spray around their neck to stop them from misbehaving. The collar comes with instructions on how to use it as a tool, not a crutch, which is why I'm giving it 3 stars. But knowing what I know, I wouldn't buy this product again. I would just put the time and effort into training my pup the right way.

We purchased this collar from Amazon about 2 years ago. We had problems with it spraying when our dog didn't bark. I called the company and they sent out a new one. It worked well for awhile then it started shooting up like Old Faithful when I was filling it. The batteries also didn't last very long. We stopped using it for a year because I was frustrated with the issues we were having. I decided recently to try again, and that is when it was shooting out the Citronella as quick as I put it in. I called the company again and they said that they had recalled the model that I had so they sent out another new one. They also included spray and battery which I thought was nice of them. This collar has been working better, but when I don't have it on she barks alot. Sometimes I will put it on her without turning it on and that works. We have a new puppy so I hate to leave it on our older dog all the time since it seems to prohibit her from playing with the puppy.
I am happier with this model, and like I said, "It is better then nothing", but I am still not getting the results I was hoping for. For those of you who complained about the unit being faulty, give Premier a call. They are really good about replacing it.

We tried everything from personal obedience instructors, shock collars, anxiety meds, ultra-sonic trainers, massive amounts of exercise, and read numerous books on dog training. Nothing worked.
We borrowed this bark collar from a friend as a last resort, and it worked better than anything. Unlike the shock collars, it did not work him up even more when it was activated. It seems he knows he can't get worked up now, and not only does he not bark, but he doesn't get as hyper.
Amazon has the best price and free shipping so you don't have to shop around. When we got our own it was very sensative and was spraying way too often. I called the company and they said some newer models have had this problem. They sent a new one out immediately.

~ August 25, 2010 ~ The Atomic Fluffchick from United States said:A great way to calm irrational cats
I have a pair of cats, sisters, who have always had strong reactions to strange odors. When they're exposed to one that they find upsetting, their response is to begin taking their anxieties out on each other and they'll fight for days. In the past we've had to simply wait it out until they calm down and get over it. But now we're introducing a new cat into the family, so we decided to try Feliway and see if it might help with the process.
The introduction is a slow process -- the new cat is currently isolated in one bedroom while the other two girls are in the rest of the house. They know she's there and are a little tense, but have been behaving themselves. For the first 24 hours, during which time we weren't using the Feliway, everything was going smoothly, until the new cat used her litter box and deposited some especially aromatic feces in it. The moment the smell wafted out into the hallway, both of our other cats began freaking out and taking it out on each other. I ended up having to buy Feliway at a nearby store because we needed it immediately; in the future I'm buying it through Amazon because it costs less than half the price here!
When I returned from the store with the Feliway, the girls were growling at each other and avoiding direct contact. I plugged it into an outlet near their litter box. Within moments, one of the girls had begun to visibly relax. A few minutes later, both girls were sniffing the diffuser with curious interest, and leaning into each other. They still seem a little tense about the new Mystery Cat, but they're no longer taking it out on each other. It was that fast for us!
Important things to keep in mind about Feliway:
1. What you're doing is releasing a scent into the air that the cats interpret as "this is a safe space." This is very effective IF that's true. It can counter their alarmed reactions to unfamiliar scents, sights, and sounds because it signals that they're not actually threats. It WON'T work in any situation where a real threat exists, nor will it work in a situation where you have a pet that's harassing/attacking other pets for fun, rather than because it's frightened.
2. My instant results are not necessarily the norm. Since my cats' anxieties are triggered by scents, the Feliway was able to counter them very quickly by essentially negating the scents and sending out a new message. If your situation is more complex than that, it'll take longer. The instructions say to allow up to four weeks for noticeable effects, so don't throw it out a few days later just because things haven't worked yet!
3. It's not an instant fix for everything. Some cats have genuine anxiety disorders that are beyond the scope of what Feliway can do. If your situation is extreme and/or the Feliway doesn't seem to be helping, you need to discuss things with your vet. I picked up the product on my vet's recommendation, because he felt my situation was within its scope. Yours might not be, at which point your vet may have a recommended treatment to use with or instead of Feliway.
I'm looking forward to continuing to use this product, myself. Once the new cat has been integrated into the family, our next project is getting the older cats to stop fearing our basement. I suspect that a Feliway diffuser down there could turn it from a scary place into a place they enjoy going (and we'll be thrilled to be able to move the litter box down there if it works) so that's next on the list. Personally, I wish I'd bought this years ago!

It didn't help my aggressive cat to stop bothering my more mellow cat, but it did help my mellow cat to stop throwing up his breakfast every morning (probably due to anxiety). Fantasia was adopted from the vet's office years ago. She and her kittens were dumped off in the waiting room and nobody wanted the adult cat. Fantasia got along well for years and suddenly went way down -- lifeless, not eating well, not playful or friendly, etc. Nothing much was diagnosed as wrong, but our vet told us to try the difuser. Fantasia is doing great, looks like a youngster again, loves the difuser, rubs against it, and if runs out, she stomps around looking for it until it is replaced. I have re-ordered the refills again and again.
I don't know if it works very every cat or in every setting, but I swear by it.

My 5 year old cat has always been intrigued by water coming out of a faucet. In fact, everytime me or my husband would go into the bathroom, she'd come running in too and hop up on the sink, waiting for the water to be turned on. She loves to drink out of the sink, even though she gets her head totally soaked. Since she loves the fresh running water, I decided to order the Platinum fountain, as it has a large resevoir. The day that I got it and set it up, she parked herself in front of it and just started drinking as if she was dying of thirst. This fountain definitely makes her drink more water than when it's just in a bowl. And I'm very happy about that. She drinks more water, eats less and is more active.
Cleaning the fountain is pretty easy. I ordered the brush kit and it works well. The best part is that the fountain, with the exception of the resevoir tank, is dishwasher safe. Taking the fountain apart and reassembling is pretty easy.
Perhaps the one thing that I'm not too fond of is the charcoal filters. I understand why they are there but they leave a buildup on the inside of the drinking bowl and inside the fountain assembly. It's not difficult to clean by any means though, as it comes right off with a little rubbing.

This was bought as a replacement fountain for the older model Drinkwell Pet Fountain. Out last fountain worked just fine, but after 6 years had gotten too grimy for us. I wanted something that looked cleaner and held more water. The new Platinum is great! It is quieter than our old one, and seems to hold a LOT more water as well. My cats have always liked the fountain, and this is a great way to keep their water fresh for days/weeks on end. Every so often I do have to add more water, and like that it is dishwasher safe. We will likely be Drinkwell customers for life!

I got this fountain because one of my cats was starting to only want to drink from the bathroom sink and then only from the faucet (not from the bowl). I was wasting too much water plus I had to stand there while he drank and it was kinda messy. I needed to get him something with flowing water. I chose this fountain because it was supposed to be quiet and the size was good since I have two cats. I think it would be good for households with more cats, too. It truly is quiet -- just the whisper of running water -- very nice. And both cats took right to it. So far so good!

I have an elderly female (18 yrs) and adopted a 7-yr-old female from the shelter last November. I tried to introduce them s-l-o-w-l-y and with great care but, oh my, it was cat-fight-central for weeks and I was despairing that it wasn't going to work out. Then I heard about Feliway, bought two bottles at a local store, plugged them in immediately and within 24 hours the fighting began to cease. It's been 9 months now and, while the girls aren't buddies, they are very calm and have learned to tolerate each other. No more hissing and spitting! Now, I will say that when I see that behavior return I just go check the units and sure enough they'll be dry as a bone. As soon as I plug new ones in it's just a matter of hours before things begin to return to peace. I will never be without this product regardless of the price, it's just that good!

There isn't any odor to the feliway, which is a bonus.

When it runs out, she starts peeing on stuff again. It's kind of like clockwork. Is this scientific evidence? definitely not. I bought these diffusers as a last resort to try and combat my two males cats spraying my home/furniture/curtains, etc. As soon as I received the diffusers and plugged them in, I saw almost an IMMEDIATE change in my kitties....they were calmer, nicer to each other, and actually sitting next to one another...a miracle. Spraying had almost stopped (with the exception of two times, but there is a stray outside wandering my back yard which is causing my kitties to be more anxious) HOWEVER, as soon as the liquid ran out, I can see the old behavior coming back, so it's a MUST to keep the diffusers in use at all times, which may get pricey with the refills, but to me it's WELL worth it.

The first day I brought my two ½ mix, nine-week old Bengals kittens home, they started having problems. The first two days one of them was pooping anywhere and meowing at a loud volume at all times of the day and night. The other was skittish. This is expected when two kittens leave their mother for the first time, but the pooping was bothersome. I actually thought I might have to return one. A coworker has four cats and one was an older Bengal mix. She said that after a week of the diffuser in the wall socket, the cat calmed down and didn't attack the other cats or complain. I immediately went to a Petsmart and bought the diffuser. It looks just like a `Glade' air freshener and simply plugs into a wall socket. There is no smell or odor.
After one day - ONE DAY - of being on, the two kittens stopped crying and used the litter box. No more accidents. They also became much friendlier towards me. That's when I went on-line and immediately bought a refill. If this synthetic pheromone can calm down a couple of wild feral Bengal mixes, it can calm any cat. I am not even going to try having them without the Feli-way diffuser. This stuff is so worth the money. My kittens are now affectionate and calm. This is a great product. Expect one refill to last about one month.
